Te Ōhākī is located approximately 10 km east of Matamata. The marae belongs to the hapū Ngāti Tokotoko of the iwi Ngāti Hinerangi.
The wharenui is named Te Ōhākī. In early 2012, Ngāti Hinerangi celebrated the opening of their new wharekai, Te Puna Aroha.
