Te Āwhina marae is located just outside of Motueka in the Tasman region. The marae belongs to Ngāti Tama, Ngāti Rārua and Te Ātiawa and lies in the shadow of two maunga, Pukeone and Tuao Wharepapa.
The whare tūpuna is named Turangāpeke, the wharekai is Te Āwhina (1958) and the whare karakia is named Te Ahurewa (1897). Te Āwhina connects ancestrally to the waka Tainui and the awa Motueka. The kawa for the marae is Tae Nga Kawa.
