Te Kōpua marae is located in Pokuru, in the Waikato region, about 20 minutes drive southwest of Te Awamutu. Te Kōpua rests upon the Kakepuku 9B1D1 Block and its associated hapū are Ngāti Kahu and Ngāti Unu.
The marae consists of the wharenui Unu and the wharekai, Hinemārama. Te Kōpua links ancestrally to the maunga Kakepuku-te-rerenga-o-Kahu, Te Kawa and Pūawhe (Pironga-te-aroaro-o-Kahu), the awa Waipā and the Tainui waka.
