Te Awamārahi marae is located west of Tuakau on the Port Waikato Road, and is affiliated to the Waikato-Tainui confederation. The principal hapu belonging to Te Awamārahi is Ngāti Amaru.
The wharenui is Te Ohaaki a Te Puea, the wharekai is Āmaru, the shelter for manuhiri is Te Paerata, and the shelter for guest orators is Ngāti Pou. There is also a whare for family use, called Mokopuna. Te Awamārahi marae connects to the maunga Onepoto and to the Waikato River. The guiding speaking protocol for hui is tau utuutu, otherwise known as tū atu, tū mai.
