Pukehou marae is located on State Highway 2 just north of Te Aute College. Its principal hapū are Ngāti Kekehaunga, Ngāti Pukututu and Ngāti Whatuiāpiti of Ngāti Kahungunu iwi.
The wharenui is called Keke Haunga. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Takitimu, the maunga Kauhehei and the ancient lake Roto-a-Tara.
