Waitetī marae is located just outside Rotorua, in Ngongotahā. The primary hapū is Ngāti Ngāraranui.
The whare tupuna is called Ngāraranui. The marae connects ancestrally to Te Arawa waka, the roto Te Rotorua-nui-a-Kahumatamomoe and the maunga Ngongotahā.
