Waimahana marae can be found in the Far North behind the very isolated Waimahana Bay. It affiliates to the hapū Ngāti Aukiwa of Ngāti Kahu ki Whangaroa. It also connects to the iwi Ngāpuhi.
The wharenui is named Te Puhi o Te Waka.
Turn left at 227 Taupo Bay Road, drive for 8km (keep left) to Waimahana Bay. Drive along beachfront track to marae (300 m up creek)
