Tahuwhakatiki (Romai) marae is located in Welcome Bay, in the Tauranga region. It is situated at the mouth of the Waitao River. Its principal hapū is Ngā Pōtiki of Ngāi Te Rangi iwi. The marae consists of the wharenui, Rongomainohorangi, and the wharekai, Tuwairua. Tahuwhakatiki links to the maunga Kopukairoa, the awa Waitao, and the moana Te Tahuna o Rangatua. The marae was established in 1911 by Eruera Tamapahore Te Tahou.
